Two very important points

It seems the number of people who are beginning to feel the urge to really get ahead in life is growing everyday. Maybe it’s the economy. Maybe it’s the state of affairs in the world. Maybe it’s divine intervention. It doesn’t really matter the reason why this is happening, but I do see it happening, and that is a good thing.

Another thing I have noticed is that many people who really want something better in their lives are not sure how to go about getting it. This is not a problem, however. It’s not a problem because the answers to what they are looking for are not that difficult to find.

I’d like to share with you two very important points that can help you, if you are someone who desires to better your life but don’t know where to start. The whole purpose of this blog is to help you to be the success you deserve to be. I want to help.

First point: I’ve found there is a very large and growing number of successful people in every area who are feeling the desire to share their ideas of how they became successful.

Second point: The ideas they each express are not at all difficult to grasp.

So how do you find this information? You can find it in the books they write or books that have been written about them. You can find audios, videos, online courses. You can speak directly with many of them or people who have access to them.

In fact, an entire field is opening up called life coaching, success coaching, mentoring programs and many other related programs. It truly is booming. Now, this brings up something I often hear from people in a tough spot in life. “What about people like me? I don’t have the money to invest in many of these programs, and how do I know which program will work best for me?”

First of all you need to recognize this kind of thinking is exactly the kind of thinking that is keeping you from becoming the success you desire to begin with. You’re thinking limitations. Limitations will keep you right where you are at right now. You need to expand your thinking in a way that you can know that somehow, someway, you are going to find the way!

This is so very important. And you will need to develop this mindset before you will even begin to move ahead. There is always a way, no matter where you are currently coming from. Even if you can’t see how just yet, at least take the time to meditate on this idea until you can open yourself to the possibility.

You may have heard of Joe Vitale, teacher in the hit DVD The Secret. He was living on the streets of Dallas when he began his journey. He began by going to the public library and reading books by and about successful people. Now that’s determination!

If you’re reading this blog, you’ve obviously got an internet connection. Use it to Google successful people. Begin with people that resonate with you, and expand from there. You might start with the names you’ve heard mentioned in The Secret. Or you might begin with the names of famous people in business, other writers. Just begin looking. This costs you nothing more than your time.

The idea is to begin something. Just complaining and not doing anything about it will get you no further than you are in this moment. You might be surprised how much good information is out there that won’t cost you a dime. This will at least be enough to get you started on your own road to success.

As you begin to grow, you will surely come across more opportunities, but these opportunities will never come into your awareness if you don’t first get out there and begin looking for them. You can start right here by looking back through these archived blogs. There is a wealth of very good information.

If you are seeking to achieve your goals, I also have an excellent book that tells you specifically how to attain the right mindset to quickly achieve those goals. Manifest By Design Now: A Better Way to Achieve Your Dreams in Five Easy Steps. You can find a downloadable ebook version at Jeffrey Brandt Products.

The Moment of Truth

It is very common to wonder about what might be the best action to take when you are looking to make a quantum leap in your life. If you have envisioned your ideal outcome and injected the most positive feelings you could muster into these thoughts, you likely are now receiving ideas for what action to take.

This is great, but this is also the point in which most people hesitate. They allow doubt or fear to enter the picture and either take no action or take action that invariably fails to produce the results they wanted. Let’s see how we might overcome this.

More important than what you do is how you are doing it. What do I mean by this? Two people doing the very same action will almost always get entirely different results from those same actions. It has to do with the energy they are expressing in doing those actions.

You want to hold the image in your mind of your ideal outcome only in whatever you are doing. Holding an image in your mind of your feelings of doubt or wondering whether this will work or not will only be detrimental to your outcome. It dampens the energy you are transmitting, and this energy will be picked up on by others, perhaps potential clients or partners.

Why do I fear doing this?

So very often when we do take action on an idea we believe will bring us closer to our dreams, we feel a sense of fear, because perhaps the thing we are doing is something we feel is beyond our current capabilities. Now if you think about the logic behind what you are doing, it would almost have to be something of a stretch for you. If you were not stretching, you would not be growing. If you are not growing, you will not be achieving much more than you currently experience.

It would be better to think: This had better be a bit beyond my capabilities or I would only be wasting my time!

Understand this before you even begin. So when you do feel a bit of fear, you may understand that this can be a good thing. Congratulate yourself. Secondly, do not concern yourself so much with how this specific action may turn out to the point that your entire future depends on it. The truth is your entire future does not depend on the outcome of this particular action.

This action may not bring you what you expect or immediately desire. It may be a valuable lesson you need to learn before making the desired leap on your next try. You may never know the specifics of the path the universe has in store for you on your journey to your goals.

This is why I so often say you must learn to enjoy your journey, no matter what. It is also good to remember the words of Les Brown:

"No matter how hard it gets or how long it takes, I’m gonna make it!”

In taking action towards your dreams, you have already set yourself apart from so many others who only talk or dream, but do nothing. At the very least, you can be happy knowing this. And the more you can feel happy with yourself, the better become your chances of getting what you really want. Cheers!

I want YOU to succeed!

What of the poets and artists?

A question recently came up about passion and how it relates to success. It was a very good question and deserves attention.

What of the poets and artists?

They are definitely following their passions, but where is their wealth? If following your passion is supposedly a direct road to wealth, why do we hear so much about artists, writers, and the like who suffer for their art? This is a very good question, indeed. At least it is for the artists, writers, musicians, poets, and writers.

One of the forces that feeds artists, poets, writers, and the like is the force of trying to reconcile a life of suffering. Our culture has maintained a certain perspective of artists, poets, and writers for far too long. What do you want to become when you grow up? We ask a child, who responds by saying I want to become an artist, or a writer. What is the typical response? “Well that’s fine, but what are you going to do to support yourself?”

It seems to be a given that following these passions does not lead to a successful life. You still need to do something to bring in the money so you can enjoy your “craft.” Ouch! This can hurt. Because it is usually these people who sense their purpose more so than those who lead mundane but comfortably mediocre lives.

This suffering becomes their underlying focus, even as they are creating the most beautiful works. This is what the artist must understand to move beyond the suffering. Allow it to drive your art, but then you must shift gears so to speak, to think as a goal seeker. Creating art in any form feeds your soul, but our created world requires something different to feed your physical existence.

It is quite common that the best artists make poor business decisions. This may be true, in general, but there is absolutely no reason that it needs to be this way. What is usually the case is that people who are so driven to create profound works of art, literature, music, live their whole life through the lens of what drives them. They feel separated from the society in which they live.

They don’t understand that their gift allows them to see a world that most do not, but through the beautiful works they create. However, for society to see these beautiful works there is a need for a structure to be put in place. This structure is one of sales, marketing, advertising, and such.

Art consumes a great deal of focus. It is for this very reason that it stands out so much from the ordinary in life. But standing out is not sufficient to create a flow of what is necessary to thrive in our society. Money is required to eat, have a place to live, and transportation. Money is a reality that doesn’t sit well with many of the artistic persuasion because of our programming.

If you are serious about creating your art and bringing it to the world, it is to your benefit to look into the business end of it as well. If this seems to take away from your connection of self, you have a choice, you may seek assistance from someone whose calling is to promote and take care of the business end of things, or do nothing and realize that nothing will change.

As for seeking assistance as in an agent, you may find one dead end after another. This is common among writers, musicians, artists, and entertainers for the obvious reason that there are so many of them. Those who have the business acumen can afford to reject many and focus on those they feel worthy of their support.

If this sounds depressing, be different. Go out and learn what you need to do as an agent and take care of yourself until you begin seeing success. If success comes to you in this way, you will soon enough be able to once again focus only on you art.

Life is about growth. If you truly want to honor your art, you will find the way to make it happen on a larger scale, even when that means stepping out of your comfort zone to learn something new. Be bold, be different. Go out and make something happen for your art.

Acting is NOT Becoming

Simply being happy is key, but this concept is often misunderstood. I’ve seen countless examples of those who suddenly decide they’re going to make the Law of Attraction work for them. They begin indulging in positive thinking, acting, speaking, etc. Soon they are spewing out positive affirmations to everyone they meet.

They may “appear” to be undaunted by their current situation and continue spewing more positivism, until…

They break.

Next thing you know they are right back to feeling as they predominantly felt before their sincere effort to change. Only now they may be feeling a little more depressed than usual. They feel as if they failed. They express wonder in that they tried everything they could to maintain positivism, yet nothing really changed for them.

I suspect this is because they expect their efforts to change their circumstance, when they really need to focus on their self. Whatever effort you expend should ultimately be to change your own inner self, without concern for the outside circumstances. This comes back to what Gandhi so eloquently said: “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

You must understand all manifestation happens on two levels and always in the same order. First it will happen within and only then will it happen out in the world. The above example I described was typical of most people who focus on the positive with the hopes of creating a better outside without even considering that the outside they are currently experiencing is because of who they are on the inside.

In short, what is it they were doing that did not produce the results they wanted? They were acting happy. They were acting secure. They were acting successful. They were simply acting, rather than becoming. Can you sense the difference? On an energetic level, there is a great difference between the two.

The difference is between falseness and truth. Truth will always win out. So how does one truly become happy, secure, and successful? This will only happen through growth. Growth is only possible through expanding your awareness of yourself and of your world.

You really do need to expend some effort to create real change. It does not simply happen because you say it is now your new reality. You’ve surely heard the critics condemning the Law of Attraction saying that it is nothing more than bunk. It is because they are looking at it from this superficial level. They think what it is supposedly all about is expressed in the well known phrase, “fake it ‘til you make it.”

In truth, there is no faking involved. On the contrary, you cannot fool the Law. Your internal change must be real before you will see real results. Due to the amount of negative programming that is so prevalent in our society and culture, you may likely spend a great deal of time and energy just on getting your own perspective to be more congruent with what you desire.

Time and effort, yes, it may cost you, but in the end, I guarantee it will be well worth whatever price you now must pay. You spend your time and effort in learning more about the Law of Attraction from books, audios, videos, or other people. Then, you must dwell upon what you have learned, again and again until it becomes your habitual way of thinking.

Once this thinking becomes your predominant way of thinking, you will then have the foundation to create what you could only have described as miracles before making this transition. Once you achieve something you thought of as impossible before, you suddenly become a different person. More then becomes possible for you. This becomes a cycle and you find yourself beginning to soar.

Have patience with yourself. You really cannot hurry this along by force. I will give you a hint, however. You can speed up the process by focusing on all that you have with gratitude. A thankful heart, is a heart that is open to receive. But, remember, in being grateful, it must be real!

Thank you and enjoy your journey. I want YOU to succeed!

Whether you like it or not...

Whether you like it or not, whether you plan it or not, whether you try to or not, whether you are even conscious of it or not, you are doing it every moment of every day. You are making decisions, and these decisions you are making, are having an effect on your futire circumstances. Think about it!

It’s true; you cannot escape from making decisions. This is your undeniable reality. So, you may as well get this reality into your conscious mind and begin taking control of the decisions you are making. I say this because by not consciously making a decision, you have made the decision to let someone or something else make that decision for you. Why would anyone give up control of their life to someone or something else?

Just to give you an idea of the number of decisions you make every moment spend a few moments thinking about it. What will you wear today? What will you eat? What will you do? What will you think about? How will you feel? Who will you spend time with? You can go on and on and on with this, but I think you’ve got the idea.

You may think most of this is not so important. You may be right about most of this. However, there is one area of your life that making the correct decision is absolutely vital to your future well-being. It is a decision that most do not even think about. What decision is that? Your attitude.

Yes, you decide on the attitude you have. No one can make this decision for you unless you first decide to give them permission to decide for you. This is very important! You decide what your attitude is going to be today and everyday. Sure things that happen in your life may be great or they may be terrible. They may be whatever you decide they are.

Am I trying to say that you should be happy that your car didn’t want to start this morning making you late for work? And that after borrowing your husband’s car, you made it to work only to find you had a flat tire when you were leaving work to go home? Well, no, this would be enough to bother most anybody, but that doesn’t give you reason to make it worse by deciding to dwell on these unfortunate incidents.

You may not decide the particular circumstance you find yourself in, but you do decide your follow up attitude. And I am a strong believer in that your general attitude tends to attract to you more that will reinforce that attitude.

A man with a grumpy attitude generally brings others down and gets that grumpy attitude brought back to him. A nervous woman fearing she won’t do well in a job interview may only increase her chances of not getting the job, because she has shown herself to be insecure and perhaps not capable of the responsibility.

A person with an attitude of confidence will generally go about a day filled with harmonious happenings. Would you not agree? Oftentimes people blame a bad attitude on circumstance. When you hear advocates for the Law of Attraction, you tend to hear that the attitude is the root cause and circumstance is but an effect or result. Which one do you believe?

I can tell you this; whichever one you believe, you will find plenty of evidence to support your belief. I find this to be true with many things in life. This tells me something very important about life; you find what you are looking for!

In the case of attitude, where many get hung up on believing their attitude is only because of their circumstances, you might consider this: attitude causes circumstances in accordance with that attitude, and circumstances then cause an attitude that corresponds to those particular circumstances. This can become a vicious cycle, and on that is not easily broken.

Circumstances don’t usually change immediately after a shift in attitude. This can be frustrating when you are trying to change your circumstances by controlling your attitude. If this is your case, use that frustration to drive yourself harder to develop a positive attitude. Think to yourself, how frustrating this is and that you MUST persevere with maintaining a more positive outlook to break free from this chain. It will happen, and you will be all the better off for it.

I want YOU to succeed!

Are YOU smarter than a Fifth Grader?

If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you will have sensed that I am a big believer in continuous learning. Learning is growth, and growth is the essence of life. Our society places a great deal of emphasis on learning for children, but for some reason, it tends to taper off as we become adults. When we think of adult learning, we generally consider very specific training or classes to learn a certain skill necessary for our job. Or perhaps the thought of seminars or workshops come to mind, but general education tends to stop when most finish high school.

There have even been paradigms suggesting that learning is not as easy for an adult as for a child. Notice I used the word paradigm. That is because the Truth of the matter is, that is all that it is. If children seem to learn new information quicker or easier than adults, it is only because they make use of all of their faculties to learn more so than adults. Adults tend to use certain faculties less and less.

Children’s minds are active by their very nature. Children learn things kinesthetically. They do a new thing, whether they do it with proficiency or not. Adults tend to inhibit themselves, because they believe they have to do it well or they will look bad. Does this make any sense? Language is a prime example of this. In one of my businesses, Bridge Lingual Services, I deal with a lot of people from other countries. I hear again and again from parents who rely on their children heavily because they feel they can’t communicate well enough in English.

These children may not speak all that well either, but it isn’t long before they can. This is because they simply do it. This is kinesthetic learning. Certainly some people respond better to kinesthetic learning than others; however, this is only one way where children seem to jump in where adults don’t.

One of the best ways that children learn is by incorporating their imagination. They pretend all the time about being in different situations. They act out these situations and the “experience” of doing so goes straight to the subconscious mind. Bingo! A new habit is learned.

You see an example of this in some training exercises with adults from time to time. Take sales training for example. Role playing is often used to get new sales persons to pick up new techniques and build confidence. This is also used in classes in conflict resolution in the work place frequently. This make-believe style of learning could be used in much more far reaching ways. Use your imagination.

Another idea that helps children learn well is the simple idea of something being new or interesting. When children want to learn a certain thing, they really want to learn it. They get themselves involved with the new idea or concept and make it their own.

Often times, adults don’t seek out to learn new things. They wait until someone comes along and decides for them that they “need” to learn something new. Then they begrudgingly set out to learn it with no real vested interest in learning it. Technology is a good example. Many of us adults have grown up in a time before computers and cell phones and digital cameras and CDs.

These new technologies appeared on the scene and only appealed to the younger generation at first. Now you can hardly find a job without having at least the basics down of computing skills. Can you type on a computer keypad?

Saying that you are too old to be learning new things is only true if you decide it is true for you. But what a loss thinking like this can be. Learning is something that never has to stop, and just in continuing to learn new things continuously you improve the quality of your life. Not only because of the new thing you learned, but also because you are continuing to use what God gave you between your ears.

Continual learning can have numerous beneficial effects on your overall health and well being. Studies have shown this to be true. But really you don’t need studies to tell you this. Just find something that interests you that you know little about and get going to learn it. You’ll see for yourself. And your own experience can be much more convincing than any studies that someone might sight.

To Your Continual Growth,

Are YOU living below the neck?

I’ve seen or heard statistics that only about 5% of the population attains mega success. What about the other 95%? They would be the average and below. About 95% of the population watches TV on a regular basis. This leaves about 5% that rarely, if ever, watch TV. Did you know it is precisely the same 5% that are considered to be the most successful that watch the least TV?

About 95% of the population believes it is important to consider security when investing their money. And the other 5%? They are less concerned with security. They are really looking for potential return on investment (ROI). The 95% are thinking about saving for retirement. The 5% are thinking about creating multiple streams of income of the passive type.

How much do you really know about this 5%? If you don’t know much about the way they think, I suggest, no, I URGE you to begin looking into the way they think. YOUR future depends on it! Where do you find this information? Well, there may be many ways of doing so, but I’ll let you know an easy and efficient way to get an in depth understanding of their thinking processes, and how you can make these processes your own.

Books

I’ve read dozens of books on the topic, but I’ll just mention a few of the best I’ve read to get you started. If you’re anything like me, after reading a few of these you’ll want to continue reading more. If that is the case, let me know and I’ll be glad to share with you more titles. But one word of extremely IMPORTANT advice: Don’t stop at reading these books. Put them into ACTION!

The best book I know on this subject is one I’ve mentioned in one of my first blog posts. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. Wow, this book is loaded with all the ammunition you’ll need to take off, if you do as the book says. It is broken in down into seventeen “wealth files” that explain the most powerful differences between the thinking of the rich from the poor and middle class. This book is a must read for sure.

How To Think Like A Millionaire by Mark Fisher and Marc Allen is a short but important work that will give you great insight into new ways of thinking. This was one of the first books I’ve read by Marc Allen, who has written several very good books. He is also the founder and Publisher of New World Library.

If you enjoy reading fables you will definitely enjoy one written by Mark Fisher called The Instant Millionaire. This was one of the first I read on the topic and has had a most extraordinary impact on my life, and I don’t normally read fiction. I highly recommend it.

Bob Proctor has two books I cannot recommend enough: You Were Born Rich, and It’s Not About The Money. Bob really makes it clear the importance of changing the way you think and he eloquently explains how to do this in either one of these two books.

Now I could go on and make quite a list but rather I will say this. Read anything by any of the following writers: Dan Kennedy, Brian Tracy, Les Brown, Robert Allen, Mark Victor Hansen, or any of the teachers from The Secret.

The main goal of my blog is to help you change your mindset in a way to help you achieve your goals. Reading these books will help you immensely! I’ve only mentioned a few of the many I’ve read and use daily, but like I said, you will likely want to read more once you begin. That my friend is the key. Devour this information and your change will happen faster than you can imagine.

Now back to the title of this post: Are YOU living below the neck? What does it mean? Well, if you remember I was making a lot of comments about 95% vs. 5%. Your head consists of roughly 5% of your total body mass. 95% of the people are working in jobs that basically require their body but not so much their head. Those who use their heads are the ones who earn more and find their lives to be far more satisfactory. Think about everything you do in your daily life. Are YOU living below the neck? If so, know that you can change this right NOW.

Decide for once what it is you want and decide for once that you are going to get it. Decide for once that you are going to spend some time everyday learning something new that will lead you in the direction of what you want. Read books. Study them. Contemplate what you learn. Imagine your ideal. Open yourself to ideas and inspiration. Begin living in a new way. Begin living above the neck.

Send me message on Facebook and ask for my new book, Manifest By Design Now. I’ll give it to you for FREE because I want you to be successful. This offer will not last for long but I do want you to have it now so you can begin your new life. Show some initiative to better your life, and in the process help to make a better world for all. That’s what I’m asking. Do it now.

One Step… Two Steps… Three…

If you put one foot in front of the other and repeat, you will get closer. If you continue repeating, you will get to where you want to go. No magic. No hoping, wishing or dreaming. This is a plain and simple fact. Everybody knows this.

Why is it so difficult for so many to use this very same understanding in relation to their goals in life? If you take even the tiniest steps towards your goals, you will get there, if you persist. It is often stated the hardest part is the beginning. It doesn’t really have to be, but it is the psychological stumbling block for many.

Your dream may seem so far away when you are about to begin. Think of it this way: If it is going to take you five years, so what? Those five years are going to pass anyway. Why not make the most of those five years? What will happen if you don’t? You will probably not be much different than you are now. But if you begin taking those steps and continue taking them, you will definitely be in a different place in five years.

Whether you make your goal in those five years, is really not the most important issue at stake. Even if you don’t make it to your goal, if you have been taking those steps, you will definitely feel better about yourself. You will definitely be closer at the very least.

Keep your end goal in mind always, but don’t make the mistake of basing your present happiness on how far you have to go. Base it on the FACT that you are going! So long as you are going, you are growing. Even if during your journey something happens to make you change your ultimate goal, you will have as a part of your experience the knowledge that you can move forward.

If you don’t know exactly how to get to where you want to go, know that this knowledge was lacking in almost every case of great achievement. You don’t have to know the details up front. All you really need to know is the general direction that you wish to go. As you begin moving in that direction, you will see signs to guide you. This is called course correction, and it is a normal part of the journey.

Take pride in your progress, no matter how little it seems to be. When you do take pride in this, you will be expressing gratitude. And gratitude is the accelerant that will speed your progress. Reward yourself, but maintain your focus always on the desired end result. Don’t fret or worry about anything.

Trust in the basic formula we began this post with: One foot in front of the other will get you where you want to go.

You will probably notice that your progress will naturally feel as if it is speeding up as you near your target. Be ready for this and don’t allow yourself to freak out. Remember this was what you wanted from the beginning. Be bold and confident. This is not the time to be second guessing yourself. If you made it this far, you have to know you are ready to move further along.

You were born to advance, to grow. This is the essence of who you are. Get to know this side of you that you may have forgotten about since early childhood. The funny thing is, when you regain contact with this innate part of you, you will also feel the regained energy of youth. Now this alone should be enough to inspire anyone to go for their dreams.

Have fun along the way, and let me know how you’re doing!

The Test

Do yourself a favor!

When you study in school or in a university, you learn your lessons, and then you expect a test before receiving your prize, whether this prize be a title or diploma. When you begin studying the Law of Attraction, you might just as well expect the same treatment. You learn all about visualizing your goal and taking action. You also learn the importance of persistence. You learn there will be road blocks, but that you can overcome them with persistence.

Why is it then that so many learn well the necessary lessons, but then give up when the real test becomes evident in their experience? They run into a few road blocks and decide it’s too much work. Remember your lessons! Persistence is the one quality that when lacking brings people to shipwreck more than any other. They give up too soon to see real physical results manifest in their lives.

Know that you will be tested. You expect it in other areas of your life. You might as well know that this area will be no different. Prepare yourself with confidence to follow through no matter what. Know that after the test, you will come out with more than you ever had before.

Many people who have seen programs like The Secret get mislead by the positive energy of these shows. That positive energy is a very necessary element to activating the Law of Attraction. The more positive your energy, the more powerful you attract to you what it is you are seeking, however, what you are seeking will not likely come to you without your going through feelings of self-doubt or other negative emotions.

The key is to recognize this likely scenario and be ready for it. If and when your energy begins to drop, make sure you realize that allowing it to drop is not only going to stop the attractive force you were generating, it may also begin to repel what it is you were seeking.

If the negative energy you feel becomes too much for you to put off, at the very least, make a conscious decision that you will only take a break from your efforts long enough to experience what you really sense that is negative until you can work your way through it. Then you will get right back to attracting again! And follow through.

The idea is to sustain your positive energy indefinitely. When you see the teachers in the film The Secret, they appear as if their lives are simply wonderful every day. I can easily imagine that they are also. There may very well be a few bumps along the way every now and then, but nothing will bring them down for more than a short while.

I say this based on my own experience. I’ve seen a dramatic shift in my own energy that began several years ago. This shift was slow at first, but soon began to accelerate when I did decide that I was going to be positive on a continual basis. When I could not keep myself positive, for whatever reason, I simply made a deal with myself as I stated above.

I consciously decided that I would give in but only for a short time because I knew that being negative would not help me. The interesting thing was that when I began making this deal with myself my periods of feeling down dramatically decreased in both intensity and frequency. I felt more like I was in control even when I wasn’t in total control.

Very soon after, I noticed myself not being bothered by people or situations that would have driven me crazy with negative energy before. So please, give this idea some thought and see if it is something you might want to try. Consider it an experiment. Consider it a test. I am confident you will be pleasantly surprised.

The Unemployed Millionaire

One of the best books I've come across in a while.

This past week I bought a book that I just have to share with you. It is called The Unemployed Millionaire. It was written by self-made millionaire, Matt Morris and has a Foreword by the amazing motivational speaker, Les Brown.

This book has to be one of the most practical, down to earth books I’ve read in a while. It is chock full of very wise advice and wisdom that will definitely get you going in the right direction if applied to your own ideas in a positive manner.

Matt has a style that is so welcoming, it is like you are listening to a close friend explaining to you exactly what you need to do to reach your dreams. He is a major believer in developing the mindset for success, so you’ve got to know I like him!

His story is one that many can relate to if they’ve ever tried to make a go of a business venture. However, unlike most, Matt did not give up. He stepped back just far enough to get a better look at his circumstances; he kept his mind focused and remained open to receiving new ideas, and he jumped when those ideas came.

This is what he so very well explains as the secret to his success. You’ve got to really believe you can do it. No, more than this; you’ve got to believe you must do it. When you become serious about going after your goals, you’ve got to eliminate all excuses.

What I truly found refreshing about The Unemployed Millionaire was that unlike many books on success, Matt doesn’t just tell you what you need to do; he goes on to explain how you do it and why this is the best way. He gives you the behind the scenes look at the journey like few others have.

If you’ve already read a few prosperity books and would like to try one that is quite different, The Unemployed Millionaire may be just the one you need to give you that final push to go on and achieve your dreams.

Courage and Conformity

The most natural manner of living life is also the most unsuccessful.

Whoa, think about that last sentence. Do you agree with it? Throughout your life from the time you were just a wee little tot, you were taught and expected to do what? You were taught and expected to be like everyone else. Sure you may have heard phrases like you are unique and original but how much was this truly encouraged and to what extent?

For many of the most successful in life, it seems they spent a certain part of their life learning to fit in, only to spend the latter part learning to express their uniqueness. Who wins? Uniqueness, originality, one-of-a-kindness, the real you (singular).

Don’t concern yourself with what is considered to be the norm when you seek to do great things. Great things are not the norm, thus they are great. With some 95% of the population doing ‘normal’ things, you can expect to face some resistance along your path to what you consider to be success.

Get this into your head right now before you even begin. If you’ve already begun but find yourself at a roadblock, congratulate yourself for finding this wise advice now before you threw in the towel. Resistance is a necessary factor in achieving great success.

Without resistance in weight training, you would build no muscle mass. Without resistance in electricity, you would have no light or heat. Resistance is not a bad thing. Resistance is what gives the creative element in you opportunity to shine through acceleration. The very meaning of standing out is to overcome resistance. The greater the resistance you overcome, the greater you will stand out in the eyes of others and yourself.

Take your manner of living more seriously. Going with the flow of others has definite benefits in many areas, but when it comes to creating a better life than average, you need to think in better than average ways. If you’re lost as to how to go about things in a more than average way, look to the examples that most stand out in your perspective.

Study the best athletes. Study the best in business. Study the spiritual masters. Study anyone who you admire. Know that in so doing their wisdom will rub off on you. This will help you get started in the right direction, but know something more.

Whoever you follow to get started, may be only the beginning. There is nothing to stop you from taking off from that point and creating your own path which goes even further. This is what life is really about. In truth this should be the natural manner of living. Sadly, however, this manner of living takes courage in a society that breeds conformity.

It was Rollo May who said that the opposite of courage is not cowardice, but conformity. I do believe this is true. Conformity is the enemy of creative spirit. The creative spirit wishes to soar while conformity keeps us grounded. Conformity may have its place, but it is not in the realm of making change for the better. If you want to improve your life, you’ve got to think of new ideas and be willing to apply them.

Getting off track is NOT the end of the line

There are times when everyone will get off the track to their success. I don’t care who they are. It happens. If this has happened to you, understand that this does not signify that you cannot make it, will not make it, or any other negative thing. It simply means that something happened to get you where you are, and that now is the time to get going once again.

The reasons for getting off track are numerous. The seriousness of the situations may be big, but none of this really matters so long as you recognize that you’re no longer heading in the direction you wanted to be heading, and you decide to get back in the saddle and ride. Continue your journey.

I believe getting off track does happen for a reason, however. It seems to be a message from the universe that we need to evaluate our life circumstances or our plan. I’m not suggesting that your plan may be the wrong plan. This may be an opportunity to reaffirm your commitment, nothing more. Or perhaps you just need to tweak your plan.

If you find yourself off track, take a moment to realize this and get quiet inside to receive any wisdom to be gained from your awareness. Chances are there is a lesson just waiting for you to become aware of. Don’t try to guess what that lesson is. Just quiet your mind and open yourself to receiving it. It will come. This is not the time to jump to any conclusions as to the worthiness of yourself or your goals.

If anything, this may be the time to regroup your thoughts and accelerate your efforts to reach an entirely new level. It may be just the last stop before you lift off to heights you never dreamed were possible before.

Now the majority of people, when they find themselves off track, immediately come to the conclusion there was something wrong with the goal itself. Perhaps it was too ambitious or unrealistic. Stop! Surely you’re not trying to say that the universe is not capable of providing what you desire. Desire itself is based in unrealized potential within you trying to find expression in the manifest. Desire comes from beyond your physical self. It is your spirit letting you know what is possible.

Will it be easy? Well this I can not answer. It depends on many things. Most predominantly it depends on how clear you are and how determined you are. By clear, I mean to say how much negative programming do you have planted in your subconscious mind that does nothing but hinder your efforts. We all have this programming.

Getting off track is often a sign that we need to discover what negative programming is still lurking in the shadows of our mind, blocking our clear vision. This is where determination comes in. Don’t give up. Search yourself to find the underlining cause that got you off track. Understand it, accept it, and let it go. Refocus on the reasons you desire to reach this goal, open yourself to be inspired once more and begin again.

In doing so, you’ve just progressed to the next level. You are not a quitter. You are determined to succeed, and you will succeed! Go for it and show the world the way once you’ve made it. The world always needs more sources of inspiration for the rest. You can be the next.

To your Infinite Success!
